Our
Goals Include: *Protecting abused, and
neglected farm animals by providing them with a
safe environment and loving care. *Rehabilitation and placement
of rescued animals when appropriate..
*Educating hobby farmers in
the proper care of farm animals..
*Educating visitors in the areas
of:
~identifying and protecting
at risk farm animals.
~promoting the proper care
and handling of animals,
~protecting our
wetlands, and
endangered species of flora, fauna,
and animals that reside in New Brunswick's wetlands, including our own duck and beaver habitats, and Salmon river. ~promoting kindness and respect to all living beings through humane education.. *Providing therapeutic experiences to nursing home clients through our PET THERAPY PROGRAM. *Participating in our local literacy campaign with the use of "READING BUNNIES" and volunteers within the local elementary school system.. *Promoting volunteerism, and providing volunteer opportunities within our community for people over the age of 8 and at most ability levels.. Our future goals include
the above goals
as well as:
*We hope to purchase an additional
30 acres for growing hay and increasing our pasture availability..
*We plan to renovate our century old barns while maintaining their heritage look.. *We are also working together with Ducks Unlimited in an effort to transform our wetland into a habitat for orpaned ducks and geese.. *We hope to build an education centre for classroom visits, and wish to run a day camp program for at risk children in the future.. *We would like to develop "sister farms" within the northern, southern, and eastern regions of New Brunswick, sharing our desire to protect farm animals, our resources, skills, and goals as well as promoting humane education throughout the province in an effort to defeat violence to all living beings in our communities..
