Organizations

These are items that we either desperately need, or we go through a lot of. If you can help in any way with these items, please call us for pick up, or you could deliver them to the farm if you would like.  Thank you in advance for your help in this area.

Many of these items may be recycled if in good condition and safe.

Food related items:

Hay – horse quality

Grain – call us for details as we must keep the animals on the same grains to prevent illness.

Fresh fruit/vegetables – apples, carrots, parsnips, turnips (drop apples are good too). 

Medical related items:

Gift certificates to City Animal Hospital or another vet in the Fredericton area for small animal care (mostly rabbits – vaccinations, spay/neuter)

Horse wormers

Fly spray for horses

Veto-lice for cattle

Iodine for animals (found at farm stores)

Hibatane

Vet wrap

First aid supplies (we use almost everything but bandaids for the animals, see Articles: First Aid Supplies for the Farm for a complete list)

Recycled items (or new):

Cottage cheese and yogurt containers (500g)

Large buckets, with handles- recycles buckets from local bakeries are the best!

Doghouses – med. and lg. (for the goats, and ducks)

Cat Carriers – to transport Reading Bunnies in.

Horse balls

Wheel barrels

Lg. Rubbermaid storage containers for water troughs

Saddle pads, western and English

Lunge lines

Childrens’ books – new, ages K-5 for Reading Bunnies Program

Sheep bells – for predator control

Dog collars, sm. and med. (for sheep/goats)

Grooming tools – horse brushes all types, hoof picks

Water bottles for rabbits – med. to lg. sized

Halters – cob, pony, full, draft, sheep

Salt blocks

Manure rakes, and shovels

All purpose fire extinguishers

Fencing; electric braid, tape, rope, cedar rails, cedar posts, insulators, electric fence handles, sheep fencing, (call for details if needed)

Rabbit cage wire

Plexi glass – minimum of 2’x 2’

2x4’s, 2x6’s

Robertson screws – 2-4” wood screws
